Poker has many variations, but in essence it follows the same principles as its basic variant 5-Card Draw Poker. In Poker all 52 cards in the pack are used and the face cards (K,Q,J) have a high value. Ace is the highest card. Everyone gets five cards, which are dealt out to the group, one card at a time.
Poker Ranking
Royal Flush - This is the sequence of five cards from the same suit, from the Ace downwards
Straight Flush - This is any sequence in the same suit apart from Royal Flush
Four of a Kind - The best is four Aces
Full House - This comprised three of the same cards, then two
Flush - Here the cards are the same suit but no not have to follow a sequence
Straight - Here the cards follow a sequence but are not from the same suit
Three of a Kind - The best is three Aces
Two Pair - For example, two Kings and two 10s
One Pair - For example, two Aces
High Card - One Ace
Basic Rules
1) Everyone places the same amount in a central pot and then gets five cards.
2) Each player decides how many (up to 3 cards) to exchange
3) Bidding goes as follows:
Open : Start bidding process
Check : Decides not to bid, passing bit to next player
See : Matches bid of other players, to stay in the same, to see their hand
Raise : Higher bid than others, to prevent others 'Seeing'
Fold : Quit the game because card rank is low. Lose initial bet
4) Exchange 1-3 cards with Dealer 5) Winner is the player with card rank closest to Royal Flush.
