Without question, the multiple betting variations make Craps a complex game to understand and master. That is why you need to spend some time studying the playing rules and betting options. Because the outcome relies in betting on the result of two dice (a very simple action), the variations is found in the betting instead.
When you first throw the dice, this is called the Come Out throw. You win by getting 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12. If you get 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 this means you have a a Point and have a chance for a second dice throw.
On the Craps are two identical zones, called Pass and Don't Pass line bets; Come and Don't Come bets; Odds bet; Place bets and Field bets. In the middle of the table is an area called Proposition Bets.
Winning/losing plays
Pass Bets / Don't Bets - With the Come Out bet, the player can choose a Pass Bet (betting to win on a 7 or 11) or a Don't Bet (winning on 2 or 3). A dice roll of 12 is a Don't Bets Tie - it's an opportunity to roll the dice again.
Kinds of Craps bets
Pass Line Bet - Most players opt for this bet. It gives you a 'Natural Win' with a 7 or 11 roll. If you get 2, 3 or 12 you have Craps, or a 'Natural Loss'. When you fix the Point on the Pass Line you are able to make a Come Bet.
Odds on Pass Line Bet - Having fixed the Point, the player can now bet again. If he or she chooses Come Bet rather than Pass Line Bet, this leads to the Odds on Come Bet . Here a player can make a Don't Come Bet , where 2 or 3 brings a win and 7 or 11 a loss.
Place Bets - This means fixing the Point and betting on getting a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Field Bets - This ambitious bet risks everything on one dice roll, with the winning numbers being 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. Big Six, Big Eight Bets - The player declares, for even odds (1:1) that a 7 will be rolled before a 6 or 8.
